Rekonstruktion ist eine Forschungspraxis, mit der man sich gemeinhin auf die Suche nach einer vergangenen (künstlerischen und/oder historischen) Wirklichkeit begibt. Der slowenische Performancekünstler Janez Janša, derzeit Gastprofessor der Tanzwissenschaften an der FU Berlin, entwickelt mit den Studierenden unter dem Titel „Performing Document“ Ereignisse, die nicht stattgefunden haben. Dabei werden Fotografien oder Interviews zu Dokumenten einer fingierten Realität.

Der 1964 als Emil Hrvatin geborene Autor und Regisseur verkörpert sein künstlerisches Prinzip übrigens auch als Person: 2007 nahm er gemeinsam mit den Künstlern Davide Grassi und Ziga Kariz in einem Akt subversiver Umarmung offiziell den Namen des damaligen slowenischen Ministerpräsidenten Janez Janša an.

Karen Kipphof I Objects, Machines and Puppets

The lecture will give a rough overview over the multitude of Humanoids, Automatons and Science Fiction Phantasies that have made appearances in the Visual and Performing Arts, and present several examples of Contemporary Media Theatre with Puppets, Objects and Machines, such as Verdensteateret from Oslo as well as bring along puppets from the Floating Characters - production by Karen Kipphoff.

Burghard Duhm (Stiftung bauhaus dessau): Die historische Bauhausbühne als eine experimentelle Wirkungsstätte außerhalb des offiziellen Theaterkontextes

Die Lecture gibt Einblicke in die Arbeit und Rezeption der Bauhausbühne zwischen 1921 und 1929 in Weimar und Dessau. Ein Teil dieser Arbeiten sind raumorientierte Bewegungskunst jenseits von Ballett und Ausdruckstanz. Sie gelten heute als Vorläufer von Performance und Aktionskunst und konzeptioneller Tanzkunst. Im Anschluss wird das Tanzfonds Erbe-Projekt ´Bauhaus tanzen, ein Bewegungsstück´ vorgestellt.

Reconstruction is a research practice in which one usually goes in search of a past (artistic and/or historic) reality. The Slovenian performance artist Janez Janša, currently a guest professor of dance sciences at the FU Berlin, developed events with students that never took place under the title “Performing Document”. Photographs or interviews become documents of a faked reality.

The author and director, born in 1964 as Emil Hrvatin, embodies his own artistic principle. In 2007, in an act of subversive appropriation, along with the artists Davide Grassi and Ziga Kariz he officially took on the name of the acting minister president, Janez Janša.

The presentation of the results in cooperation with the FU Berlin and the DAAD.

Burghard Duhm (Stiftung bauhaus dessau): The historic Bauhaus stage as an experimental site outside of the official theatre context

The lecture offers insights into the work and reception of the Bauhaus stage between 1921 and 1929 in Weimar and Dessau. Some of this work was spatially oriented movement art far beyond ballet and Ausdruckstanz. Today, it is seen as a precursor to performance art, action art and concept dance. Subsequently, the Tanzfonds Erbe project “Bauhaus tanzen, ein Bewegungsstück” will be presented.
