Zum zweiten Mal, wiederum in einem Sommersemester, fokussiert die SODA Lecture-Reihe auf die Frage nach dem Subjekt in Beziehung zu choreographischer und zeitgenössischer künstlerischer Praxis allgemein. Die Frage nach dem Subjekt ist heute wieder ein zentraler Aspekt der philosophischen, künstlerischen und kritisch-politischen Diskurse; deshalb bildet sie den Ausgangspunkt, sich mit den drei zentralen Begriffen des SODA-Studiengangs – Solo, Tanz, Autorschaft – zu befassen.

In seinem Einführungsvortrag wird Boyan Manchev die Frage nach der Subjektivität mit der Frage nach dem Werk in Beziehung setzen und versuchen, eine Alternative zu der radikalen Kritik am Begriff des Subjekts im letzten Jahrhundert vorzuschlagen: Was wir nach dem „Tod des Subjekts” brauchen, ist nichts anderes als eine emanzipierte Subjektivität als Kraft von Transformation und Gerechtigkeit.

Helmut Ploebst wird die autopoietische Voraussetzung des ‚Kritischen’ in Prozessen der Natur und der Gesellschaft im Verhältnis zur ‚Kritik’ in Kunst und ihrer Reflexion untersuchen. Er wird die Symptome der Krise der Kritik im Kontext der derzeitigen flüssigen politischen und ökonomischen Regimes in den Blick nehmen – und die Möglichkeiten, in dieser Realität zu navigieren.

For a second summer semester in a row, the SODA lecture series will focus on the question of the subject in relation to choreographic and contemporary artistic practice in general. Today the question of the subject has once again become central in philosophical, artistic and critical political discourses. Therefore, it has also become the focal point when addressing the three central elements of the SODA programme: solo, dance and authorship.

In his introductory lecture, Boyan Manchev will relate the question of subjectivity to the question of creation while trying to propose an alternative to the radical critique of the notion of the subject in the last century. What we need after the "death of the subject" is nothing other than a new emancipated subjectivity as a force of transformation and justice.

Helmut Ploebst will investigate the autopoietic premise of ’the critical’ in processes of nature and society to ’critique’ in art and its reflection. He will focus on the symptoms of the crisis of critique in the context of the current fluid political and economical regimes – and on the possibilities of navigating within this reality.
