Liebe Freund*innen des HZT Berlin,
das neue Jahr startet am HZT Berlin mit der Bewerbungsphase für den Bachelorstudiengang BA Tanz, Kontext, Choreographie. Vom 1. Februar bis 1. März 2019 für das Wintersemester 2019/20. Wir freuen uns auf Eure Bewerbungen. Die Absolventen*innen des BA Studiengangs laden nächste Woche zum Aufführungsformat FIRST WORKS, in dem sie erste eigene künstlerische Arbeiten zeigen. Mit dabei sind Julia Keren Turbahn, Camilla Lind, Johanne Merke, Katerina Delakoura, Sunayana Shetty und Aabshaar Wakhloo. Für die vorlesungsfreie Zeit empfehlen wir die Veranstaltungsreihe What does it take to cross a border? in der ifa Galerie Berlin mit künstlerischen Performances, Installationen, Gesprächen und Workshops über Grenzen, Körper und Bewegung. Das Projekt wird kuratiert von Sandra Noeth (Professorin im MA SODA); zudem sind Thomas Plischke (Professor im BA Tanz/Kontext/Choreographie) und Kike García Gil (Student im BA Tanz/Kontext/Choreographie) künstlerisch beteiligt. Der BA Tanz, Kontext, Choreographie bietet eine über sechs Semester angelegte praxisnahe Ausbildung. Ziel ist die Entwicklung künstlerischer Arbeit im Feld der choreographischen Theorie und Praxis. Die Unterrichtssprache ist deutsch und englisch. Das Studium beginnt zum Wintersemester 2019/20. Die Online-Bewerbung ist vom 1.2. bis 1.3.2019 möglich. What does it take to cross a border? Ein Performance- und Workshopprogramm über Grenzen, Körper und Bewegung Was bedeutet es - und was braucht es, um eine Grenze zu überschreiten? Wie fühlen sich Grenzen an, in unseren Körpern und Köpfen, im Alltag und dann, wenn wir unser bekanntes Terrain verlassen? Welche Gesten und Bewegungen bringen wir mit Grenzen in Verbindung? Lee Méir und Marc Philipp Gabriel sind Stipendiat*innen des Pina Bausch Fellowship 2019 Lee Méir wird mit ihrem Fellowship-Kooperationpartner, der École des Sables (Senegal) erforschen, wie Rhythmus als Mittel zur Schaffung einer Verbindung zwischen den Menschen dient. Marc Phillip Gabriels Fellowship-Kooperationspartner ist die Dançando com a Diferença Tanzkompanie (Portugal), die mit körperlich und geistig beeinträchtigten Menschen aller Altersgruppen zusammenarbeitet. Marc wird Einblicke in ihre Auffassung von Tanz und ihre Arbeitsweise gewinnen, um sein Verständnis für das gemeinsame Schaffen kreativer Räume mit Menschen mit Behinderung zu vertiefen und um seine Wahrnehmung und Sensibilität gegenüber der künstlerischen Arbeit mit all unseren Körpern zu verbessern. The BA Dance, Context, Choreography offers a practice-oriented education in six semesters. The objective is to develop artistic work in the field of choreographic theory and practice. The study language is German and English. The course starts in October 2019. The online application is possible from 1st February to 1st March 2019. You will find all updated information about the application and the program from 1st February 2019 onwards here .

For the winter semester 2018/19 the HZT introduced a new showing format for the BA graduates in Dance, Context, Choreography. FIRST WORKS is a platform for them to create and present first artistic works at the end of their studies. How do we experience borders, both spatially and physically – on an everyday basis and when we leave familiar terrain? Which actions and movements do we associate with borders? Marc Philipp Gabriel and Lee Méir are grant holders of the Pina Bausch Fellowship 2019. Lee Méirs fellowship partner is the École des Sables (Senegal) where she will focus on the way how rhythm functions as a means to create common grounds between human beings. Marc Philipp Gabriels fellowship partner is Dançando com a Diferença dance company (Portugal), who work with physically and mentally differently abled people of all ages. Marc will learn about their understanding of dance and their working methods, to deepen his understanding of joint creative spaces and to enhance his perception and sensitivity for artistic work with all the bodies we have.
